Laura Archer is a Brooklyn based Director and Producer. She has worked extensively in theater and film production for over fifteen years on projects ranging from short films to large Broadway musicals to episodic TV. In 2014 she founded her own company, March Forth Productions, which acts as her producing entity.
She is the Producer and/or Director of several award winning indie projects including the short film Bob & Dale (Producer) which won the 2019 Gotham Awards Student Short Film Showcase and received distribution through Focus Features; the web series BE: Bettina & Elaine (Producer/Director) which won the 2015 San Francisco WebFest Audience Choice Award and screened at festivals around the globe including the 2015 Raindance Web Festival; and the short Another Day of School (Director), a one-shot, musical parody, that was the runner up Best Cinematography at the 2024 CUNY Film Festival.
Laura holds a BA in History and Theatre from Stony Brook University, and an MFA in Film Producing from Brooklyn College’s Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema.
She is an active member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 161. And has been a guest speaker or panelist for numerous organizations including: Cornell University, Brooklyn College, The League of Professional Theatre Women, and BRIC Arts Media.
When not working, Laura can be found walking the streets of New York with headphones in her ears looking for inspiration and picturesque silhouettes, or curled up at home with her cats watching BBC period dramas.
